My main PC at home runs UBUNTU..actually all four PC’s are running UBUNTU. I am currently using a backup software called backintime which works perfect for a simple backup solution. There are tons of open source backup solutions out there just “google” it. The challenge is that even though backintime is working fine for me, I am going to be changing the Operating System on one my pc’s from LINUX to Solaris. I need to find a solution that will work on both platforms. Amanda and Bacula are popular backup tools but are more complex that what I need. I came across Flexbackup and this is nice and simple and does not appear to require a client installation. The backup is performed for remote machines using ssh. I just barely started reading up on flexbackup so after I set this up I will post my results and thoughts.
